Audemars Piguet Royal Oak ref. 56175TT “Championship” Steel and Tantalum Box and Papers Mk2 Dial

This is a commemorative Royal Oak made as a limited edition to celebrate Sir Nick Faldo’s 1990 Masters and British Open back-to-back championships. The watch is machined from a combination of stainless steel and tantalum, the first time this combination was used for a Royal Oak. A limited edition of 2,000 pieces, it was already pre-sold to 1,100 international collectors upon release!

The 33mm is in great condition with strong lines on the case. The case back features the Nick Faldo engraving. The Stern-made grey petit tapisserie dial is in superb condition with the tall AP signature in the top half of the dial, long markers and a date at three. The dial has changed to a lovely light grey colour ! The case is slim, thanks to the quartz movement, but wears bigger than the 33mm size would suggest, thanks to the sloping case at six and twelve. The bracelet is also made in steel and tantalum and is in really great condition and would fit a wrist size up to 18cm.

The watch comes with its original papers stating a sale in 1996 and both inner and outer boxes. The calibre 2612 quartz movement has been fully checked by our watchmaker and a new battery has been fitted.
