The dial is in beautiful condition with the printing still crisp on the textured dial and the interesting metal frame around the date window. The 50s styling is evident in the dagger hands with lume, that has taken on a nice patina.
These Rolex big bubbleback watches are known by their Italian nickname ‘Ovettone’ (big egg) due to the exceptional depth of case. This was necessary due to the auto-wind rotor and so the caseback is deep and rounded. The case remains in outstanding condition with the original early bezel type. This DJ has a Cyclops-free tropic crystal installed, giving a cool and sporty look to the watch. The watch comes on a folded link Jubilee bracelet reference 6215H, with 55 endlinks, and has been fully serviced by our watchmaker.
