Rolex GMT-Master 1675 MK1 "Tropical" Long-E Dial

We’ve been long-time lovers of the GMT-Master 1675, and we’ve had plenty of experience owning and selling these over the years! But rarely have we come across a tropical version (a dial that has discoloured to a warm brown tone). These are only seen within a particular serial range and exclusively on the so-called Mark 1 (“MK1”) dials, recognizable by the long stroke of the “E” in Rolex—the famous “Long E.”

 

It’s always a special treat to find one, as it brings an extra warmth and charisma to the watch. The lume on the hands and hour plots has aged to a pleasant yellow hue, which pairs beautifully with the light tropical brown dial.

 

The case is in lovely condition, with its red-backed Pepsi insert showing a slight fade: the red remains vibrant, while the blue has developed a charming, “washed” watery effect.
