Rolex Oyster-Perpetual Date Purple Linen Dial Ref. 1500

The Rolex OP Date reference 1500 is a cool 34mm watch that has become more of a focus with collectors over the past years, especially when it has a special twist like this example!

Already a rare feature would be a “linen” (or sometimes referred to as “mosaic”) dial on these, most commonly seen in silver or champagne color, but this fella was born with a blue version—and it turned purple through the years. How cool is that?! Furthermore, on the dial is crisp white text, lovely-shaped hour markers, and yellow-colored lume plots. 

The case is still in great condition with a smooth bezel, and a lovely Oyster-style reference 78350 bracelet is fitted, with end links marked 557B and a clasp stamped “R3.” This fine OP is fully serviced by our watchmaker.
