Rolex Submariner 1680 Red Mk4 Dial

The Red Sub is a cornerstone piece for vintage Rolex enthusiasts and is often considered essential for a serious collection. While its significance is clear to collectors, we simply love it for the striking red text and the rugged, tool-watch character it projects. This particular example features a Mk4 dial with sharp red lettering and beautifully aged lume on the hour markers, giving it a distinctive warmth.

The hands match the dial nicely, complementing the overall aesthetic. The case remains in strong condition with evenly worn lugs and well-preserved crown guards.

The bezel insert has developed a charming dark grey patina, with the original pearl still intact and carefully refilled with lume. The folded-link Oyster bracelet, ref. 9315, is in excellent shape, featuring 380 end links and a clasp stamped with ‘3 72.’ It also boasts the “Pateted” engraving on the clasp, a spelling mistake that Rolex later corrected to “Patented.”

The watch has been fully serviced by our watchmaker to ensure it’s in top condition.
