Sometimes we tend to forget that AP also created high complications and gorgeous dress watches long before the mighty ‘Oak’ defined the lineup. Audemars Piguet worked with independent designers, such as the German Gebhard Duve, who designed the so-called “Disco Volante.”

 

On offer, we have a super cool, ultra-thin, and rare “Disco Volante,” or “Flying Saucer” dress watch, in an 18k yellow gold, 31mm case.

 

The case features very short lugs, a small winding crown, and a machined, concentric bezel—simply super cool.

 

The dial is silvered, with simple stick markers, a small running seconds, elegant Audemars Piguet signature, and hands that perfectly match the hour markers.

 

This fine Disco Volante is fitted with a Bulang & Sons leather strap, and its ultra-thin, manually wound Cal. 2003 movement has been fully serviced by our watchmaker.
