Cartier Ceinture in 18k Yellow Gold ref. 78100 Manual Wound Paris Dial

We are pleased to offer another fascinating Cartier, this time the lesser-known Ceinture.

 

The Ceinture gained significant prominence in 1973 when it was reintroduced as part of the Louis Cartier Collection. This prestigious series revived twelve historic “shaped” models, showcasing mechanical craftsmanship at a time when traditional watchmaking faced the quartz crisis.

 

This watch features a beautiful 18 kt yellow gold stepped case with subtly shaved corners. The design was originally intended to resemble a belt buckle—hence the name Ceinture, French for belt.

 

The winding crown is set into a recessed slot within the outer step of the case, providing full protection from accidental knocks. The white dial is finished with black painted Roman numerals and fitted with elegant blued-steel hands.

 

This Cartier comes on a high-quality Bulang & Sons leather strap, and an original 18 kt Cartier folding clasp is included. The hand-wound movement has been fully checked and regulated by our watchmaker.
